The bad guys gain the upper hand as the palace collapses under the weight of all that intrigue. Poor King Inthra, who only wanted a loving wife, a peaceful insular country, and a pride-worthy son, and ends up with none of these.
Kamin is still an ass, but I think Mattana gets used to it. Anyway, we still get a few final cute moments before the chaos starts. And Hareutai is a smart cookie; for all her joy in the pregnancy, she’ll soon discover why her husband is always lost in thought and sad.
Our couple tries to secretly keep in touch with each other, but things are getting ugly in the palace as the useless Crown Prince’s behaviors are brought to light. Even though they are his responsibility, no doubt Kamin will try to deflect the blame. I’m beginning to think both Kamin and Makey need a sound spanking.
The stakes are getting higher as the bad guys continue their evil machinations, Mintra looks for every opportunity to get in with the Queen and/or destroy her ‘friend’, and our couple’s feelings boil to the surface even hotter than before.
Our guy finally sorta kinda admits how he feels, at least to himself, but the danger quotient ratchets up. He will need all his focus to keep everyone alive and safe. His heart, though, is in the most danger it has ever been.
Mattana’s childhood memories of the king; the backlash of her impulsive actions in Thailand; Kamin’s not-yet-named feelings for his young charge; Hareutai’s hip flexibility have given us some additional tidbits of information to help solidify our story. Makey doesn’t seem quite the jerk that he was in previous episodes, but I doubt the Mattana influence can exert a permanent change in his bad behaviors.
Our couple spends a lot of time with each other, but almost always in the presence of somebody else. And Prince Makey is underfoot to remind them both of the promises made to King and Country and parents. But shouldn’t personal happiness count for something?
At the start of this episode, our almost-betrothed couple is in a dark, creepy building. Suthep is around wishing them ill wth a sharp, pointy object, and our guards have been tasered. Will life be this exciting in Raya?
The meeting of our Prince and Princess is less than auspicious, but nevertheless, preparations continue to welcome the queen-to-be to her new adopted country. Hopefully she won’t kill him before anything gets worked out. And poor Kamin is probably getting gray hairs trying to corral two of the most self-centered and impulsive people he has ever been in charge of.
